Well, word on the street is that “The Admiral” will open by the new year and that they’re nice people. It’s the new place on Haywood Rd near image420. It’s a dinky little place, but the forgotten side of West Asheville needs someplace where Lane could get a hearty breakfast.
I just wonder if they’re gonna have seafood.

Cit-Times….Chalk it up to the Grinch – Downtown Countdown, the city-sponsored family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration, has been canceled. And the annual fireworks show is also in jeopardy, unless the city can find a sponsor to cover the $20,000 tab.
The Dec. 31 event, produced by Asheville Parks and Recreation, is being dropped due to low attendance, the possibility of bad weather and ongoing downtown construction.
Downtown Countdown grew out of the much larger First Night Asheville celebration, which featured several dozen performances at venues all over the city. That event was discontinued in 2003. Last year’s Downtown Countdown Downtown Countdown featured a battle of the bands and a fireworks show.OAS_AD(’ArticleFlex_1′);
Event organizers will do research to decide the future of a city New Year’s Eve celebration. Meanwhile, the department is searching for a business sponsor for a fireworks show this year. Any business interested in the sponsorship should contact Asheville’s festivals director Melissa Porter before Nov. 20 at 259-5689.

bo·he·mi·an noun. A person with artistic or literary interests who disregards conventional standards of behavior.

How many bohemians do you think will be able to afford to stay there? Look at how much it will solve the traffic problems in Biltmore Village…Only 4 cars, They should build one on Patton Ave. and in the median of 240 through West Asheville near I-40. We could forget having to expand I-240 to 50 lanes through town.
From Hotel Online …The Kessler Enterprise, Inc., recently announced plans for his newest boutique hotel - The Bohemian Hotel at Biltmore Village, located at the entrance of the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Designed in the style of a Tudor lodge, the hotel will feature 106 luxurious guest rooms and suites, the Red Stag Grille – a fine dining chop house and restaurant, the Grand Bohemian Art Gallery, 5,100 sq. ft. of event space, fitness center, concierge services, room service and valet parking. The property is scheduled to open in fall 2008.
On a side note now I almost understand the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Is this the real life-
Is this just fantasy-
Caught in a landslide-
No escape from reality-
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see-
I’m just a poor boy,i need no sympathy-
Because I’m easy come,easy go,
A little high,little low,
Anyway the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to me,
To me

Bonfires burning bright, pumpkin faces in the night - I remember Halloween.
Dead cats hanging from poles, little dead are out in droves - I remember Halloween.
Brown leaved vertigo where skeletal life is known - I remember Halloween.
This day anything goes - burning bodies hanging from poles - I remember Halloween.
Candy apples with razor blades, little dead are soon in graves - I remember Halloween.
Asheville is a cool place - and there are some interesting hauntings in the area…
A list of hauntings here… SPOOKY!
